I happily recommend the Showtime series Weeds. For the uninitiated, it uses the struggles of a pot-selling widowed mother as its route through US suburban life. Via its theme music, and writing it lays into the condescension, and uniformity it sees in suburbia.
When the art designers were creating the town elementary school they came up with this as its sign.
If one looks very closely (better if you have the DVD, this shot from the net is v. small), you can make out what the designers felt would portray the sort of characterless banality they are aiming at.

If this seems familiar it is perhaps because the following year the Modern Conservatives released what they thought might achieve similar.
Now either this is a coincidence or whichever stoner the Tory's marketing firm tasked with their account found some last minute 'inspiration'.
